My Self Publishing Course – Launch Date Confirmed

It’s happening…..

It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally put myself out there and committed to a completion date for my online course:

31st July 2016
(75 DAYS AWAY! Gulp)

In this video, I share details on how you can sign up to notifications of when the course goes live, but that’s not all…

…I go on to explain how you can enter the Launch Competition and be in with a chance of winning FREE lifetime memberships to my course by joining my notification list.

…Receive FREE one-to-one coaching with me (cost ยฃ200 per hour)

…And benefit from substantial discounts on the course cost (up to 75% off!)

The Ebook Investor

I wasn’t able to get and I was unsure what to call my website that would hold all my Kindle Publishing related stuff – ie. Self Publishing Course, Kindle related articles/information, Kindle Resources/Tools, Contact information and Coaching Details etc.

After some contemplation, I finally decided on I felt that the name best represented my message and how I coach compared to the many others out there. I liked that it represented more than just a name.

I’m curious, what do you think of it?

I came into Self Publishing as an investor (of sorts…). My experience and data from investing in stocks and shares has served me very well in Kindle Publishing.

It helped me identify how lucrative it was…. and still is. For example, on my most recent book launch (within the last 10 days), my book made me over 110% ROI in 12 hours. There aren’t many investments where you can get a return like that!!

It also gave me reassurance when I reviewed my worst selling audio book. It was averaging 0-2 sales a month after 5 months, which is very poor! However, after checking my ROI sheet it still came to 7.4%. Some would argue that’s a fair return for a Passive Investment after 5 months. If it were to continue on that path for 12 months, it would earn me approx 17%. And that’s my worst book!*

I’ve learned to seek the best value I can, and at the right price, in order to maximise the biggest returns fro myself long term – and where possible – to set up Passive Income streams. All of which I’ve developed as an investor.

If you head over to now you’ll currently find a landing page (and nothing else) where you can sign up to my Notification List. As I’ve explained above, you could be in with a chance of receiving my course FREE for life, FREE Coaching, and other Large Discounts, but you’ve got to be on the list to stand a chance.

‘Innovative Self Publishing’

With the website name finalised, I moved over to the course name. I was racking my brain for ages over this one.

I once again went for an option that personified my message and approach – Innovation.

I like to focus on the original, creative, and more effective methods to Self Publishing (and most other things!). This isn’t because I believe I can re-invent the wheel. More that I want to make sure my books stand out from the many others out there.

My course message will be the same. It won’t be just like the others. I’ve taken my time to develop the content to make sure it stands out above the crowd and offers more value to the end user.

If you search ‘Kindle Publishing’ or ‘Self Publishing’, you’ll find a whole host of names. I wanted mine to be different from the others I came across, represent my message, and stand out in google or Youtube searches.

Follow My Journey Progress

I almost used the ‘J-word’, please forgive me. But I’m excited to announce that I’ll be tracking my progress on creating the course to keep in line with the deadline, to give you an insight into the process of making a course, and also give you a sneaky peak into the modules, content, design work etc.

Good luck with this Huw! I am thinking of dipping my toe into kindle publishing soon, so I might be one of your earlier course customers. I have cancelled all plans on the 31st of July to be first in line, so don't let me down! (no pressure)

    Hey Huw

Good to hear that you've been making progress on this and have finally set a target date for your course.

I like the term 'innovative self publishing', it suggests something quite different from other self publishing guides/training out there.

The website name is basically a 'does what it says on the tin' type of name, although at first glance, it looked like there was a typo, ie too many 'e's!

Personally, I think it's a bit of a shame that you couldn't tie it up with your name or even FFB40 (both brand names), or perhaps it was never your intention to link FFB40 with what you are doing right now with the publishing/training courses?

I guess things have changed so much since you started the blog, which was originally essentially about frugal living and dividend investing.

Things have evolved a lot since then and I for one continue to enjoy reading how your journey – and yes, I still see it as a journey ๐Ÿ™‚ – continues!

Great to hear from you Craig. I hope you're well!

Nice to hear that you're interested in giving it a go too. It's totally transformed my life (in many ways), and as my course creation might suggest – I recommend it!

Ha ha. Oh sh#t, the pressure is on now! ๐Ÿ™‚ I'll do my best not to let you, everyone else, and myself down. Gulp…

    Hey Weenie,

It's been a long time coming, and to be honest, I wish I had committed to a date earlier. I feel a new sense of focus and determination to get it completed on time, and now that people are signing up it's making the whole thing real for me.

Thanks for the feedback on the name. I appreciate your thoughts!

I ran into a bit of a 'chicken and the egg' situation with this Blog. I would prefer to launch a course on a more professional looking site. Not only is my content unprofessional at times on here, but the free Blogger set up and general appearance doesn't best represent me and my publishing business. Once my course is up and running, I plan on reviewing the Blogging situation. I think I'm now erring towards keeping this Blog but moving it away from Blogger onto WordPress. The thought actually excites me now, which it didn't before, and I have a sense of ownership for it. I want to continue tracking my progress all the way to FI. Even if it is sporadic. I want to keep the chain so to speak.

My intention behind the Blog hasn't changed, but my approach has. I'm still interested in FI. But I believe I've found a route that will get me there faster, and one I'll enjoy far more. As long as people still read it, find value/entertainment in it, I'll keep producing content for it. I do enjoy it! ๐Ÿ™‚

I've always appreciated the support you offer Weenie. It means a lot, and it's especially powerful when moments of doubt creep in. I promise you this…

… If you continue to offer support the way you have, I'll continue to share my progress! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Have an awesome week!

    Hi Huw,

Great news to hear that you've set a launch date for the course, and also have made progress with the names/site that will support the provision of the course. I can imagine how this will have reinvigorated your efforts at completing the course, also it sets a sense of excitement. After all, when such a lot of effort has been put into something like creating a new product/book/course, it's ultimately very exciting when you finally get to launch it and get feedback from your customers.

I look forward to continuing to following along with your progress..

    Thanks OR!

It's made a big difference, and I wish I had done it earlier. I'm excited about the product creation process (as well as a little nervous), but I want to make sure I enjoy the process too. Making something (book/course) for the first time is very exciting, and noticeable growth will come from it.

Thanks as always for your support and encouragement. It means a lot!

I hope everything is progressing well your end too.

  • Wow exciting times Huw!

I would love to sign up to the course but literally have zero time right now!
    Maybe one for a year or two's time I think… ๐Ÿ™‚

(Having too much fun earning spare cash with Matched betting and of course spending time with the family at the mo)

I second weenies thought on the name, I just thought you'd gone all northern on us "theeee book investor" ๐Ÿ™‚
But no in all seriousness it is a good name and fits well. Just popped over and your landing page looks very professional, I can see why you haven't really made any links to this blog just yet as you want to promote a professional looking product etc…

All the best and will keep an eye on how you get on! Oh also any word on when the next FIRE escape is going to be yet and where? I had a quick look around and couldn't find anything yet. Hope this is going to continue as was gutted we missed the last one.

Thanks man. I really appreciate that!

There are a lot of ways to earn money online. Matched Betting is an excellent way of doing so. Good on you!

Ha ha. Yes it does sound like a big intro or something. In all honesty, it's stuff like names that I get hung up about, and it isn't 100% perfect in my opinion, but it serves a purpose and allows me to move forward at least. I think people will ultimately judge me on the content rather than the name.

The free Blogger format has served me very well, but I want to make an extra effort with this course. I appreciate the kind words. I faffed around to get it the way it is, and I had to leave it in the end as it was halting progress again. Great to hear that you like it though.

Thank you for the continued support my friend. It means a lot to hear such encouragement. This move is a big transition for me. I've had to let go of the reigns of my business to get it up and running which isn't easy, but I believe the sacrifice will be worth it.

How's life as a dad nowadays?!

FIRE Escape is going to be put back to Sept now. My focus has to be on this course, but I want to keep these meet ups going as everyone seems to get so much out of them, and they're a lot of fun!
